Welcome to another great week at our school and classroom. Below, please find what will be going on this week as well as some important reminders.
Projects: Students continue to learn about heredity and genetics. This week we will learn about sex-linked genes. In other words, what are some traits and disorders associated with the X and Y chromosomes. We will also be learning about asexual reproduction of organisms to ensure survival. Our genetics and heredity unit will come to a close at the end of next week.
8th Writing: This week students are finishing their argumentative essays. I will be grading those next week. We will celebrate our work and progress as writers by sharing our favorite writing pieces with each other. I can't wait!
6th Writing: Students are working on finishing their opinion essays on school uniforms. They are working on clarifying and supporting a main idea in the their paragraph with specific and related details/elaborations.
Reading: We finished our informational text Two Miserable Presidents and will be working on a class timeline project based on the text. Students each chose an important date/event associated with the text and will be writing a brief description as well as creating an illustration.
