Dec. 19th-22nd

Well, we made it to the last week before winter break. This is what we will be working on this week:

Projects: Students will work to complete their comic strips demonstrating how an animal’s adaptations allow it to survive. Most groups are already starting their final drafts, I can’t wait to see their final products.

8th grade Writing: 8th grade authors are working on their personal narratives. Students will continue to work on their sketches as well as develop the body paragraphs of their writing. I’m so proud of the diligence 8th graders have shown in working to improve their writing!

6th grade Writing: 6th graders writers will be working on their personal narratives. Students worked on their sketches last week and will continue to work on them this week. Students will also develop the body paragraphs of their personal narratives and hopefully will finish by the end of the week.

Reading: Students will begin working on their World War I pyramid projects. Students will represent and describe one of the four areas of WWI on each of the pyramids: 1 “ism” (nationalism, imperialism, militarism), 1 example of propaganda from the era, an important event, and an alliance. We will finish a guided webquest on Monday and then continue to work on the project the rest of the week.
