Hello Bighorns! Welcome back from a well-deserved week off. :)
Projects: We are starting our new unit on World War II. This week we will learn about The Treaty of Versailles, alliances during WWII, as well as geographic locations and key leaders. Students will be gathering information from videos, websites, and texts.
8th & 6th Writing: This week we will take a break from Nevada Department of Education writing tasks and have students write about a prompt of choice. The prompts are reflective and will be written on an outline of a fingerprint. I hope to have them displayed before parent teacher conferences.
Reading: Students will continue to work on explaining how a character changes as the plot unfolds. Students will be citing text evidence to support their thinking. We will also be working on answering comprehension questions using text evidence.
Language Arts: We continue to work on connotation and denotation. Students are really focusing on building their vocabulary and looking up unfamiliar terms to help them determine if a word has a positive, negative, or neutral connotation.
