Apr. 17th-20th

Projects: We've begun working on our museum exhibit project for World War II and we are so excited! Students are working together to create a written plan for their projects as well as assigning roles and responsibilities of each group member. This week, we will be working on expanding our knowledge of World War II, specifically battles and leaders, as well as continuing to work on the actual project. It will be a very busy week!

8th Writing: This week we will be focusing primarily on grammar in preparation for testing which is coming up soon. We will also be reviewing elements of various writing genres as well as the writing traits.

6th Writing: Students continue to work on their argumentative speeches on the Loch Ness monster. Review of argumentative writing has been beneficial this week, especially the vocabulary associated with this writing genre. This week, students will continue to work on finding text evidence to support their claims, as well as creating counter claims and rebuttals. Finally students will create their introductory paragraphs and conclusions.

Reading: We continue to work on comparing and contrasting listening/watching a text versus reading a text. Students will work on reading and then watching a video of the same text and identifying similarities and differences in both experiences.
