Projects- This week students will be finishing their body systems projects and presenting to the class by the end of the week. We will also take a vocabulary quiz to help students prepare for the final exam on body systems next week.
6th & 8th grade Writing- Students continue to work on their informative essays. This week they will address the body paragraphs of their essays by reading and collecting text evidence to use as elaborations.
6th Reading- We will continue to workin on creating unbiased summaries of informational text by using the main idea and key details. We have been practicing summarizing in class with both informational and literary text. Finally, we will begin working on text strucures and analyzing their importance in the comprehension of text.
Homework- Please remember to check that your child is reading the same book each night and completing the reading log, both front and back. It is essential for students to read and summarize each night because it helps maintain reading skills we are learning in class. I will be e-mailing families tonight to let them know how their child is doing on the reading log. Please remember this is part of their Reading grade.
